Happy Valentine's Day!  Today we are celebrating Valentine's Day with lots of really cool activities! This morning we used Valentine hearts to count, sort and graph and this afternoon we used them in a science experiment with water, soda and vinegar.
 It was a great day!

Contemporary Dance with Rebecca Sawdon

Taylor School's guest artist was Rebecca Sawdon who taught us contemporary dance. We had a great time learning about ways to move our bodies to music, to express feelings and emotions. Thank you Becky for a great week!

Activity Challenge Begins Feb 13th

INSPIRING KIDS TO BE ACTIVE FOR LIFE

Did you know that active kids are happier, more confident, and do better in school? Yet 90 per cent of Canadian kids don't get the recommended daily amount of physical activity! So, to celebrate our 50th anniversary, we created the Canada Games Activity Challenge. Our daily activities and fun rewards program build fundamental movement skills - the building blocks to help kids become active for life.

GET ACTIVE!

Check in daily with your child and have fun using one of the many at-home “training” sessions provided.

WHAT'S THE CANADA GAMES ACTIVITY CHALLENGE?

The Canada Games Activity Challenge is a fun, activity tracking app for Canadian kids and teachers (K-6/7). It creates healthy habits by rewarding daily physical activity. Kids are a part of their classroom team and learn fundamental movement skills at school. Then, they can practice at home, each time earning valuable rewards! You can cheer them on from the sidelines or get in the game yourself. We’ll keep you updated with activity tips and participation rates for your child, offering support along the way.

Artist In The School - Dance

We are very fortunate to have Ms. Rebecca Sawdon in our school to teach us Contemporary Dance.
Students are learning ways to move their bodies and will be performing their dance for the school on Friday. We are having a lot of fun!

I Love To Read Month

Starting in February, as part of our I Love To Read Month activities, the grade 2 students are taking an active part in reading. Every afternoon, we have a new guest reader in our classroom.
