We are finishing up our unit on money this week. The students are very interested in learning about money, making change and applying their knowledge in real life situations. Check out this new game on how to make change.

Cool Math Games

I'm always searching for new games to engage students in the classroom. Here are a few games you can play at home.

Math Playground Website Game
With the slogan “Play with numbers and give your brain a workout”, Math Playground offers an extensive range of math learning aids, ranging from simple logic games to math manipulations and even math word problems.

IXL Main

While the IXL Website might not look as playful or kid-oriented as our previous entry, it offers a great array of games, as well as short, simple tests that are laid out in a very intuitive way.

Please remember that students are to be working on their Reflex Math and Mathletics programs at home as well.

Have a great weekend!

Saturday, April 22 is Earth Day. This week, the students have a challenge to create something from recycled products to bring to school on Friday. I can't wait to see what interesting and creative things the students (and families) create!

Kickball

We are so happy that the spring weather has arrived in Swan River. The gym is closed for the Aladdin musical production for the month of April but that just means we get to play outside! Training has begun for the many tabloid day events which means students need to bring outside running shoes to school. Today we started learning how to play kickball.
