Information for kids and families
We all want to keep ourselves and our families safe from sickness and harm. We are doing everything we can to inform students about how to take care of themselves. Here is some information that I shared with the students today.
Viruses are a type of germ. They're very tiny, and when they get inside your body, they can make you sick. Viruses cause colds, chicken pox, measles, flu, and many other diseases. Unfortunately, antibiotics don't work on viruses like they do on bacteria. Wash your hands often to help prevent the spread of viruses, especially before you eat and after you use the bathroom.
There are things you can do to stay healthly and avoid spreading the disease:
o Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
o Stay home when you are sick.
o Cover your cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
o Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
o Wash hands often with soap and water (20 seconds).
o If you don’t have soap, use hand sanitizer (60–95% alcohol based).
o Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Jump Rope for Heart
Jump Rope for Heart Canada Parent Page - FIND IT HERE
Protecting your heart and brain health is as EASY as picking a favourite healthy habit to focus on as a family! EASY is fun for everyone to practice at home.
Eat fruits and vegetables - Fill half your plate with a rainbow of fruits and veggies to keep growing up healthy.
Active for 1 hour or more - The faster you move your body, the faster your heart pumps to power up your brain and muscles with blood and oxygen.
Screens for less than 2 hours per day - Fundraising online is fun, but most of your free time should be spent away from televisions and technology, being active to keep your heart and brain healthy.
Yes to water and no to sugary drinks - Half your body (including your heart and brain) is made of water so make sure you drink enough to fuel it.

We have had so much fun drawing with our friends from Art for Kids Hub . If you haven't checked them out, please follow the link provided.
We are now creating more amazing art projects using ideas from Krokotak . This week we decided to get a head start celebrating spring (hopefully it will continue to feel more like spring every day!)
I hope you enjoy these activities!
Looking forward to seeing how creative the kids can be!
